[The room is dark and dreary, with a slight tell-tale sway of a boat on the sea. In the center of the room, a blonde young man in fine attire is tied to a chair, a blindfold covering his eyes but she can tell from the steady rise and fall of his chest that he's still sleeping (how she got him here without waking him up is another question).

No matter, she doesn't mind waiting for him to come to.

[It had been just a single day since their small group -- growing ever so slowly but surely in number thanks to the efforts of their de facto leader -- came upon Kohlingen. The town had been spared demolition and despite the lingering sense of...depression about the place, it retained much of its rustic charm since the Cataclysm. It retained its bar, too. The barkeep also had the sense about him to keep his business open, perhaps influenced by the depression and woes of everyone that came to the town in search of lost family or a new life. Or just a slow means to waste the time with a drink.

Not that Edgar blamed anyone for seeking solace somewhere, but Setzer's state had been too depressing for him to put up with for much longer. Thankfully Celes, of all people, had been the one to talk him back from that proverbial edge. Single-handedly, at that. Edgar would have been impressed if he weren't so busy looking over each shoulder.

Relax, Big Brother. Those thieves won't find you.

Says you, Sabin. We're not that far from Dragons Neck. And remember: I've spent the better part of a year with them. I know them. They're as vindictive as they are dumb. If they were to find out Gerad actually lived and was not really who he said he was...

So then why not get rid of Gerad completely?

Get rid of Gerad completely.

Sabin might not have intended it (he may have very well been joking), but the words struck something within Edgar. Something enough to get him to crawl out of their cramped inn room that evening, to make use of one of the wash basins outside.

What a sight it must have been for anyone who dared to look, to see one Edgar Roni Figaro, doubled over and dumping buckets of water over his head in a futile effort to remove the stubborn dye from his blond hair.]

[Sometimes, a man just needed to get away from it all. And there were times he just needed a simple change in scenery. King Edgar Roni Figaro, in his infinite and lust-driven wisdom, believed he found the perfect solution to both "problems." It came to him in the middle of the day when he'd signed off on enough liens and titles to give himself writer's cramp...while listening to a baker's dozen list of problems droned off by a councilor.

There it was, on the far wall, almost obscured by the shadows of a suit of armor and a shelf: a poster for The Purple Swan. Nikeah's most reknowned gentlemen's club, specializing in Burlesque. Whatever that entailed, Edgar didn't know, but he really enjoyed it the first ten times he'd seen it. While Nikeah wasn't far, it certainly wasn't close either. The ships in South Figaro were being chartered on a limited basis (because of some longshoremen issues his councilor had mentioned that Edgar, unfortunately, couldn't recall), and the castle did not have the capability to travel in that direction. Yet.

He made a mental note to get started on that endeavor in the near future.

In the interim, though, he allowed his eyes to glaze over with thoughts of the shapely women dancing in their underthings and, in some cases, nothing at all. To the point where he couldn't think of anything else. Something had to be done. Luckily, Setzer was in the Kohlingen area and was more than willing to pilot the Falcon for such an endeavor.

All that was left was to organize a decent party -- one worthy of a king -- to accompany him to the show...]
