the return of meme night : "I promised Jessa no standards" edition
nemo better throw sigma in here if this is the gif I guess
you know the drill.
YOU ARE VERY ENCOURAGED TO TAKE THESE AS PROMPTS AND EDIT TO BE MORE IC/CANON/GAME/CR APPROPRIATE/FUNNY. in fact please do this, otherwise this won't be very fun at all. also you're welcome to drag friends in to play if they want idgaf
alternately there are these prompts if you feel like doing something less dumb and more substantial but that's effort lbr
NO STANDARDS YEAAAH
nvm I can't junpei.
Fire extinguisher might be understating things a bit.
[Is that the sound of an explosion in the background? Yes. Yes it is.]
It's okay, I can't Phi
Sounds like you're on your own then.
[Good luck with the explosions.]

I'd hate for you to cancel your plans.

[It's hard to tell over audio if she's actually doing anything about it, or just going to listen in on Jason's failure. He sounds like he's doing alright!]
SLIGHTLY BETTER STANDARDS
It's not the first time Soli woke up in a strange place, having no idea how she got there, but usually it involved a lot of drinking the night before. And the person she woke up next to is sure not someone she's ever met before. So, seeing that she woke up first, Soli does what any reasonable criminal-on-the-run might do:
Tie them up and gag them.
Tucking her trusty pistol into the waistband of her pants, Soli begins to wander, trying to get a sense of where in the blazes she is./small>

We're no strangers to kidnapping. You know the rules and so does he.][ The bindings, however, are a bit of a curveball. As soon as consciousness creeps back to him, there's a nasty dryness in his mouth, and after he takes a second to take stock, it's probably the fabric drawn tight between his teeth. In his grogginess, he automatically shifts to pull it away, only to find his hands predictably bound behind his back at the wrists. ]
[ Given their usual circumstances, it's worth a bit of a fright, to say the very least. Legs writhe frantically in order to turn him off his stomach and onto his side, eyes rolling to take in every inch of the small and unfamiliar room. As soon as they land on a figure, he stops short—then, considering the slight young woman is the lone thing in the room, makes a frantic, muffled sound as best he can around the gag. ]
no subject
Her thoughts are interrupted but a muffled sound behind her. Tugging the collar of her shirt up over her nose, she holds the fabric there, a makeshift mask as she spins around to face the man.]
Hey! Shut up! Where are we?
[She at least seems to understand that he can't really shut up and give her answers at the same time, and she squats down in front of him, using her free hand to yank the scrap of fabric out of his mouth.]
no subject
Your guess is as good as mine, [ he starts off, in that reasonably low but sharp tone of voice. We're all in the same boat here, lady, even if he doesn't recognize you. Perhaps that's why he isn't as perturbed as he probably should be given the situation. ]
[ His eyes stop on the hand that's holding her shirt over her nose and mouth, and after a careful sniff brings nothing to notice, his brow furrows. ] Is there a gas leak or something?
[ Spoken with equal parts conviction and concern that she's going to keep on untying him if that's the case, right? ]
no subject
[Sorry, Carlos. The world Soli comes from is a little less advanced than yours. (Also Soli isn't the most educated woman in the world either.)
She seems to reconsider her makeshift mask, though. From the looks of things, this man is just a prisoner, like her. Still, she wasn't ready to completely throw caution to the wind yet.]
Did you see the guys who brought us here?
no subject
[ If she's gotta ask (incredulously or otherwise), it's probably fine. Besides, he's got a nose for that kind of thing. With a sigh, he shifts to peer around her at the door before returning his attention to her, face still scrunched up as confused as hers, head shaking. ]
No, I was out like a light. Did you... [ You know, he could go on, but this is kind of a less than enjoyable arrangement. How did she wriggle out of her own bindings before he even got up... With effort, he shrugs, hands still uselessly tied behind him. ] Uh, you wanna help me out here, first?
no subject
Right-
[Standing up, she shuffles behind Carlos and crouches down again to tug at the ropes- damn she got them pretty tight though!]
Sorry about that.
[There. With the ropes loosened, Soli leans back on her haunches, resting her hands on her knees. Without the shirt to cover her face, it's easy to see the blue tattoo running from her left eye down her face. She doesn't seem to mind that the ponytail part of her hair- long enough to reach her knees when she's standing up- is currently dragging on the ground behind her.(She takes "business in the front, party in the back" to an extreme)]
no subject
He does not, however, live for being tied up and gagged (and in the unsexy, unromantic way, to boot).
When he wakes, it's with a jolt and an undercurrent of panic, eyes bugging out of his face as sensation comes to him in bits and pieces - the rope firmly binding his wrists, the cloth shoved unceremoniously in his mouth. He wriggles, first cautiously and then with increased vigor as he finds his range of motion limited, and along with the furious attempts at movement come with it a string of unintelligible garbles from behind the gag.
Have fun with that racket, Soli.]
no subject
Until Shinwoo wakes up.
Shaken out of her reverie, Soli spins around-nearly tripping over the tree trunk in the process, and hurries back over to where she left the stranger. With one hand, she hikes up the collar of her shirt, covering the majority of her face (and her big, dumb, super-obvious tattoo), while the other hand grips the butt of her pistol.]
Hey! Calm down!
[She gestures with the hand with the gun- not threateningly, but careless to what- or who- it points at.]
no subject
—is something along the lines of what he'd say if he weren't, y'know, bound and gagged and incapable of making anything other than frantic muffled noises. But boy does he try, jerking his head towards her in choppy motions, eyes rolling down in the direction of his gag and then back up to her, in the vain hope that she might be able to interpret the message he's trying to send here. Which is:
Take it off.]
no subject
She seems to get the message though and she reaches out, loosening the gag tied around his head while giving him a stern look,
Listen, I don't know what's out here so if you don't mind tryin' to stay quiet.
no subject
And then the moment's over and Shinwoo's back in action, his (not very bright) teenage self taking in the whole situation all over again. But! She seems to know what she's doing - if the gun in her hand is any indication - and she doesn't seem to want to kill him, so he supposes he can relax for the moment and follow her instruction.
In a very loud stage whisper:]
Where are we?
no subject
Looks like a forest.
[You're welcome. Letting down her guard a little, she uses the hand holding her shirt over her face to scratch at the side of her nose,]
Caris, maybe? Beats me.
So you didn't see who brought us here?
no subject
Actually that is a blatant lie, he wouldn't know what his best was if it hit him the face and then proceeded to give him a wedgie. But he is at least trying, and that entails wracking his brains for the last thing he remembers.
Which, unfortunately, is not a whole heck of a lot.]
Uh, I remember some guy - or was it two guys? - wearing hoods. [Totally sketchos] Knocked me out before I could get a better look.
no subject
[That's better than her, but still, not the most impressive memory.]
Why would they just dump us out here like this?
no subject
There could have been more! [A quick protest, since his ego's feeling bruised.] Maybe they were in the shadows and I just didn't see them.
[Either way:]
Maybe they thought we were someone famous and wanted to ransom us. [Here he puffs up a little.] I'm pretty wellknown in my town.
no subject
Ain't nobody going to pay any ransom for me.
[Maybe a bounty.]
Where're you from?
[You look pretty weird to her.]
no subject
South Korea! I'm a student at Ye Ran High School. [Not a very impressive title, tbqh.] I'm one of the best athletes the school has though, and all the rival gangs in the area know better than to mess with me.
[All said boastfully, like only a male teenager can. But enough about him, none of that's going to get out of this mess. Quieting, he takes another look around their surroundings.]
This doesn't look like any place around the high school though...
no subject
Never heard of Korea before.
[But either way, Soli is starting to think this kid isn't any threat to her. Kind of reminds her of Alamand.
She opens her mouth to speak but before she can say anything else, her ears pick up a new sound, different from the birds and wind blowing through the trees. A low growling sound.
Eyes wide, Soli drops the shirt collar from around her face, hand tightening on the grip of her gun.]
You hear that?
no subject
[—is about as far as his narrow-minded teenage brain (and mouth) gets before she's shushing him in light of some new sound wafting towards him. That he misses because he's too busy baffling over how much of a backwater bumpkin she seems to be. (What a generous opinion.)
He blinks, expression going a bit slack as he swivels his head back and forth once more.]
Uhhhhh, what am I supposed to be hearing...?
no subject
Shhhh-!
[If he quiets down, he might be able to hear the same thing- breathing, animal breathing, and it sounds like it's getting closer. Releasing his mouth, she reaches back into her pants for the gun.]
We need to get outta here, now.
no subject
What if it's just a cat or something?
[He does make sure to whisper it this time.]
I feel called out
you should, tbh
[Is he mean enough to do it, probably, but he's busy.]
