She nodded, finally getting her bearings as her eyes adjusted to the dim light. Releasing his hand, she reached up to peel the hood away from her face. The cold still nipped at her cheeks, but it was already an improvement from the wind outside.
A few moments later, she found herself crouched over a small pile of firewood. Start a fire, that was easy enough. Back in the old world, it would be just a matter of words before they had a fire to last them the entire night. But that world wasn't their's anymore. With shivering hands, she searched her person for the piece of flint she carried, tossing her gloves to the ground with an impatient grunt when she couldn't feel the rough stone in her pockets before searching again.
